Cleaning the computer registry files will speed it up

For computers running Microsoft Windows, where files are constantly being installed and uninstalled, the registry will keep growing and there will come a time when cleaning the registry will have to be performed. Even tasks such as visiting web pages will add to the registry. There are two ways to a clean computer registry, these are a manual clean up and an automatic clean using registry cleaning software. A manual clean is not the preferred option as it can end in disaster, it is very easy to make a mistake with the entries and end up making your computer useless. Manual is not recommended for people with little or no technical knowledge. As with registry cleans using software, a backup should be taken before starting to perform the clean.

There are many different versions of the registry clean software available, it is recommended that you look for software that allows a backup to be performed before starting the clean. The software will perform a scan, during this time you should not touch the computer as every movement will be recorded in the registry. The cleaning software will find corrupt and obsolete files during the scan, once the scan is finished the program lists the errors for you to decide whether to keep or delete them. If you are unsure whether to remove these errors it is best to leave them, in case they are a crucial element of the system. While the software is running, it will also shut down any programs that are running in the background that you never use, this will free up space and allow the computer to perform quicker. Once the registry clean is complete, the speed and performance should increase significantly. The registry clean should be carried out on a regular basis to maintain the efficiency of the computer.
